Hi crafty friends! We have a beautiful color challenge this week at Create with Connie and Mary.
Aren’t they pretty colors?! The “challenge” comes in to play when trying to pair them all together and challenge it was for me! But I decided to go out on a limb and not use Among the Branches… Get it?! haha! I know I know… Cheddar but what can I say?!
I used the new Oh, What Fun stamp set. And upon closer inspection I actually did use Among the Branches after all! That is where my three little snow flakes came from. Whoopsie! Well, I told you that set was versatile. 🙂 I decided to make a fun girly Christmas Card and went with the flow.
My sketch came from the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge:
I colored my rhinestones with some random gold pen I found in my desk. I couldn’t begin to tell you what brand it is but it worked and I went with it! And my gold twine is the Cording Trim in the holiday catalog. I hope you can join along this week at Create with Connie and Mary!
Would you believe me if I said that I cannot believe that it is Thursday already? I know that I say it so much that it is starting to sound cliche but I mean where is the time going?! Good grief! At least there is a fun sketch challenge and Create with Connie and Mary this week!
I’ve been making a lot of Fall Cards with the new Among the Branches stamp set but I thought it was time to change it up and make it a Christmas card. Last year I got a Christmas stamp set and was able to use it for a lot more than just Christmas. I love how versatile SU stamps are!
I used the new Merry Moments DSP stack. It all coordinates and makes it easy as pie. I layered on of the new foil doilies with my punched out card stock and sentiment and that about wraps it up!
Except for these gorgeous rhinestones on the side here. I actually gave my last catalog away and now I don’t know the names of things (what are these beauties called?) ! Plus it’s making me a little on edge… I’m telling you friend, I need help. I am a paper addict all the way!
So with that all aside (I am terribly tired and am rambling here. Please do forgive me.), come join us at Create with Connie and Mary! You will not be able to help being inspired when you see the other designer’s cards. It’s really cool to see a sketch and then everyone’s different take on it. A very talented group I tells ya! 😉
Happy Thursday all! It is sketch challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary! Looking at this sketch I thought easy peasy!
Yes… “Thought” being the keyword. My pride forbids me to tell you how long it took me to come up with my rendition of the sketch!
I cut some small strips of Basic Black card stock and curled them up. This card looks easy enough, right? Then, prey tell, how in the world did I struggle for “x” amount of time?! ha! I punched out my images from the Happy Haunting DSP and my sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.
This set has a stamp for just about any holiday or event you can think of… Besides National Dog Day; which I am embarrassed to say that I missed. How could I? My best friend in the world has four legs and we fight for the same pillow. So I’m a bit late in celebrating her but here she is in all of her splendid glory, Aspen, also known as my BFF Bubbies. ❤
Kind of got off track there! We will blame it on Teeny Tiny Wishes! 😉 Thanks for stopping by. Check out the other designer’s takes on the challenge this week and let’s see what you come up with! Play along with us at Create with Connie and Mary!
Hello fine friends! It is color challenge time this week at Create with Connie and Mary! This is such a pretty color combo! Here is what I came up with:
My DSP background is from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I love love love all the designs of this DSP! I ran my top strip of card stock through the Big Shot using the Honeycomb embossing folder. I like how it mimics the honeycomb pattern of the paper. My sentiment is from Perfect Pennants and I used the ever so useful Handheld Stapler to attach a strip of Pool Party.
Seriously, I love that thing! It is powerful enough to staple through some pretty thick stuff and gentle enough for the more fragile. Anywho, thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ll pop on over to see the other designer’s cards at Create with Connie and Mary. They will provide you with great ideas and EYE CANDY! 😉 It’s sure to get your creative groove going so come along and play with us!
It’s sketch challenge time over at Create with Connie and Mary!
And ok… maybe my card is not so “spooky” per se but I’ll tell you what is. The amount of time I spent deciding whether I should leave the entire Spider Web Doily whole or trim it. It really was nerve rattling. I went back and forth destroying many a web along the way and I eventually went with an altered doily.
I couldn’t quite get the three banners from the sketch in my take so I used three Basic Rhinestones. I also used the Happy Haunting Designer Washi Tape under the Happy Haunting DSP. If you can’t tell already, I LOVE the new holiday catalog! Let me know if you need a copy and I’ll get one to you!
If you’re looking for some creative mojo look no further than the other designer’s creations over at Create with Connie and Mary! Happy Crafting!
Hey hey! It’s color challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary! This week it was a challenge indeed! I struggled because these colors scream BOY to me and I was stumped!
So, truth be told… I have never made a boy card. Ever. I have two girls and we are all flowers and rainbows over here! So I went out of my comfort zone and did things a little different. No flowers. No bling.
I used the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits for my “you” and the “rock” is from the Crazy About You stamp set. Of course the star here is the Gorgeous Grunge. And that’s it. Easy doesn’t even cut it! But it’s bright and boy-ie and my mind can rest from scrambling on what to do with the color combo!
Unfortunately my blade is dull on my Paper Trimmer but I like the way that it roughed up the edge of the card stock! Ha! Now I don’t feel so bad about forgetting to put blades on my last order! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! If you’d like to see some other great cards using this color combo pop on over to Create with Connie and Mary and if you’re up for the challenge, join in!
Hi crafty friends!
I’ve been placed in a time warp and it is Thursday already! Where is the summer going?! Just can’t believe how time is slipping by… But alas, enough whining. It’s time to discuss this week’s sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This was a fun one for me. I haven’t used my oval framelits in awhile so it was fun to get them out and play a bit.
I used Coral Calypso and Basic Black for my go to colors. My flower is Hello Honey which I thought added just the right amount of contrast. I left everything pretty simple because my background DSP is so busy. Working with these colors had me thinking of Halloween! It will be here before you know it! Especially since I’m in this time warp continuum where my time is going just shy of the speed of light!
I gave my sentiment some height by using dimensionals and attached my flower with a glue dot. And that’s all folks! Hope you’ll hop on over to Create with Connie and Mary and view the other designer’s cards and play along! 🙂
It’s color challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary! Clearly I did not look ahead when I posted last week’s challenge card or I would have chosen a different color scheme! But I did change it up a bit. My last two cards have been ink free so I decided to stamp it up a little. Get it? Stampin’ Up?! HAHAHA! Cheddar moment! 😀
I used the Butterfly Basics set along with a little flower from Friendly Wishes that I inked with the Stampin’ Write Markers. My thread is actually a strip I unraveled from the Burlap Ribbon. It’s got a bit more umph than the linen thread if that makes sense!
Thanks for stopping by and if you’re looking for inspiration be sure to check out the rest of the designer’s cards and play along at Create With Connie and Mary!
It’s color challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary! At first I thought it was going to be a REAL challenge but then I remembered my lovely Neutrals Color Collection DSP and it came to the rescue and everything else fell into place. 🙂
I used my new favorite stamp set, Friendly Wishes, for the sentiment. I folded the Dotted Lace Trim in half and tied it in a knot. I stamped using the Flower Shop and Beautiful Bunch sets onto Lost Lagoon card stock with Craft Stampin’ Ink and used the coordinating punches. Was that a run on sentence?
As I type my toddler is having a fit and I can’t hear myself think! Ha! This post has to be short for the sake of sanity!! Come play along and get more inspiration at Create with Connie and Mary!
Guess what time it is… Go on friends “you’ve got this”… YEAH! Sketch challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary!
I fiddled and faddled and came up with this:
My first take had the flower from the “You’ve Got This” set colored in with the coordinating Watermelon Wonder but it just wasn’t working for me. It looked like a card from the 80’s. Just too pastel-ie and weird so I tried it with just black and I liked it! I even liked that it was off center. Maybe because I’m a bit wonky myself? Nah! hahah!
I am LOVING the Neutrals Color Collection DSP! I just like script and there it is in TEN different colors. MUAH! Why yes, I am blowing kisses to paper! 😉
I punched out some circles and placed them under the DSP to balance out the color. I also used the Friendly Wishes set for my sentiment. Love that too! Anywho, I hope you get a chance to play along this week and check out the other designer’s cards here!
