Hey Hey! It’s that time again… SKETCH CHALLENGE at Create With Connie and Mary. Yeah! It is a fun one this week. You can twist it, turn it, flip it; anything goes! Come play along!! Here is my take:
I needed some Melon Mambo in my life. There was a time in the distant past where I would of never paired pink and orange but those days are over. I really think they compliment each other without fighting for attention!
See that beautiful butterfly?! I am going to miss it dearly. If I had a top 10 list of things I am going to miss most the Beautiful Wings Embosslits would be on there. I have used that thing too many times to count!
There is a fun sketch this week at Create with Connie and Mary! I brought out my favorite color for this one. MELON MAMBO and a lot of it!
Here is my take:
I haven’t played with my fringe scissors in awhile and decided to get them out. I also decided to play with the tried and true uni-ball Signo gel pen. I used it to draw dots on my Bermuda Bay card stock. The white shows up great! I decided to use the Honeycomb embossing folder, I felt that it mimicked the shapes in the Back to Black DSP nicely. I used the new hand held stapler to attach my 1/4″ cotton ribbon and bling. 😉
I used Sassy Salutations for my sentiment. Just felt that it paired nice with my sassy pink. 🙂 Come play this week’s sketch challenge here!
Here is another shot of the white ink from the uni-ball Signo pen on the Bermuda Bay:
Hope everyone has a great day! Thanks for stopping by!
Hey Hey, Happy Day To YOU! This card in my rendition of a cute card I found on Pinterest by Chiaki Haverstick. Naturally I made mine pink! I used the Delicate Doilies stamp set and I added a vintage designer button and some bling with the rhinestones. In a previous post I mentioned missing the scalloped ribbon. Boy howdy, I sure do. Luckily, I am a hoarder and have a stock pile! 😉
While most of the things aren’t in the current catalog it doesn’t stop me from using them! I enjoy every craft tool, paper, ink, and embellishment that I have! Just ask my husband! ha! 😀
Hope you have a great St. Patrick’s Day today!
Don’t forget your goodies before Sale-a-bration is over! You’ve got until the 31st to get your free crafting supplies! Get em’ here!
Hey Hey! A few posts ago I shared a card that I made for my lovely neighbor. Well, I just couldn’t stop at a card. I saw a great box tutorial by fellow demonstrator Vicky Hayes that you can see here.
However, I did change up the dimensions on the lid. I wanted both the lid and the pretty box underneath to show. I made the box and put some wine tags in it because she makes her own wine and gives bottles as gifts.
I stamped my flowers (Flower Shop Set) in Calypso Coral and my go to for all things pretty, MELON MAMBO! 😉 The ribbon is the 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon on page 207 of the Stampin’ Up! annual catalog.
The stamp on the tag is from the hostess set “Hello There”. I love that stamp set!! By using the “For You” stamp on the tag she can give the bottles for any occasion and it will work.
I’m happy to say that she did love it and she sent me a picture of a tag on one of her bottles! What a fun gift!
Have I ever told you about my wonderful neighbors? Well my sweet neighbor Kristina left a bottle of wine on my doorstep on my anniversary so this card is for her.
The stamp set that I used I got for FREE during sale-a-bration! It’s called “Best Day Ever”. I also topped it with a button that I got for free from the “Best Year Ever” accessory pack. I used the new beautiful, shiny, and lovely Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim from the Occasions Catalog. Geez, you would think I like that stuff or something. 😉
The texture you’re seeing comes from the Happy Heart Textured Impressions folder. I paired the Bermuda Bay with Melon Mambo and for a little fun threw in the Calypso Coral. The wee little hearts I made from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit that I posted last time. That thing is VERSATILE! And I just happen to love it!
I think this card packs a punch with color, texture, and dimension thanks to my lovely dimensionals adhesive under the banner! I hope you like it and I hope that the lovely Kristina does too! 🙂
Hey Hey! I have to make this post super short because I sneaked away while little miss fell asleep in the high chair! Don’t you LOVE this stamp? It is from the Salebration catalog. It is the Best Day Ever stamp set and I used the Happy Hearts embossing folder. It’s a cute bright card that is easy to mass produce. During this promotion for every $50 you spend you get to pick your selection of free goodies! You know that I took part in that action! You can too here!
Sorry I don’t have more pics to post. I’m pushed for time and for some reason my computer is saying that the pics of this card that I do have are too large to upload! Ugh!
Have a great week and make time to create! It does a body and mind good! ❤
Hey Hey! Here’s another baby card and don’t you just love those bright colors?! I paired up my all time fav, Melon Mambo, with the retired Gumball Green. The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs set and behind that is the retired Circle Circus set. I stamped it off twice before stamping it onto my punched circle. It just adds a little interest to the background.
I say use your retired stuff!! Cute and whimsical never go out of style! Speaking of style order yours up today here!
For the flower I used the Blossom punch and the peel technique. Easy peasy lemon squeezy folks! Check it out!
As I type this I am sitting in the backyard trying to soak up some rays while they last! Aren’t the colors on this card springy?! This is a CASE card that I just love. The original designer is Amanda Mertz (www.didyoustamptoday.blogspot.com). I just changed up some of the colors, sentiment, and ribbon.
I kept with the Crumb Cake but used Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, and of course Melon Mambo! I used Sassy Salutations for the sentiment and popped it off with the Daffodil Delight Stitched Ribbon.
At my next event our guest star will be none other than the lovely Betsy… Betsy’s Blossoms that is. We are going to be focusing on good ol’ Betsy, so my next few posts on here will be made with that stamp set. Stay tuned for more! 🙂
For this sketch I used the stamp set Itty Bitty Banners along with the coordinating framelits. Naturally I went with Melon Mambo as my base. The belt in the middle is a layer on top of the Basic Black and Modern Medley DSP. The picture doesn’t show that it’s layered for some reason. Photographer error I’m sure! My flower is from the Blossom and Pansy punches and dazzled up with a Vintage Faceted button.
OOOPS! Forgot to mention the card stock is embossed with the Modern Mosaic folder. I think it ties in nicely with the DSP. Again, the detail is not pictured very well. I’m going to have to have a talk with my photographer. Tee-hee! 😉
Ever since school started my crafting time has dwindled. NOOOOOO!!! I have got to get back on track for my sanity’s sake! Luckily my amazing upline, Christina Crawford, came to the rescue with a great idea. She mailed everyone in our swap group a blank card made with the Thinlits Card Die and challenged us all to come up with something.
This is what I came up with, using melon mambo (naturally!) and the Gingham Garden DSP. I used the Really Good Greetings stamp set and topped it off with the Melon Mambo Scalloped Ribbon. I was sad when Stampin’ Up retired it because it was my favorite and naturally I am very greedy with it! The friend who gets this card can consider themselves LOVED! 😉
