Hello crafty friends! I’m here with a color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary and I’m happy to report that I am feeling MUCH better thanks to some good ol’ antibiotics!
Isn’t this a pretty trio?! I may have cheated just a wee bit but honestly, is it that glaring to you?
So there is no Elegant Eggplant in my Bohemian DSP, but I like it I dare say! I also like the chevron paired with the Boho Chic embossing folder. It just gives it a Southwestern look to me for some reason. I added some linen thread to add to the feel and topped off my sentiment with a flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack but in this instance we’ll call it a desert rose. 😉
And there you have it! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ll come play along with this week’s color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary and if you cheat on your paper, I won’t tell a soul! 🙂
Hi crafty friends!
I’ve been placed in a time warp and it is Thursday already! Where is the summer going?! Just can’t believe how time is slipping by… But alas, enough whining. It’s time to discuss this week’s sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! This was a fun one for me. I haven’t used my oval framelits in awhile so it was fun to get them out and play a bit.
I used Coral Calypso and Basic Black for my go to colors. My flower is Hello Honey which I thought added just the right amount of contrast. I left everything pretty simple because my background DSP is so busy. Working with these colors had me thinking of Halloween! It will be here before you know it! Especially since I’m in this time warp continuum where my time is going just shy of the speed of light!
I gave my sentiment some height by using dimensionals and attached my flower with a glue dot. And that’s all folks! Hope you’ll hop on over to Create with Connie and Mary and view the other designer’s cards and play along! 🙂
Could it be THURSDAY already?! T’is boys and girls and that only means one thing! Sketch challenge time over at Create with Connie and Mary! I started out super confident about this sketch but don’t let it fool you folks! It’s called a challenge for a reason after all. I fought with this pup for HOURS!
Yes… I am embarrassed to admit that. Just as I am embarrassed to admit I had to look up how to spell embarrassed. However, I do challenge you to play along with us! It’s fun and rewarding! After wrestling with my card I feel that I can claim that I WON! That’s right! VICTORY IS MINE! Or so I think. 😉
If you look closely you may see a little white playing peek-a-boo behind the Daffodil Delight hearts. That was part of the struggle. I felt desperate to use white for some reason and guess what… They were stitched on so I couldn’t remove them and pride wouldn’t let me start all over! I mean that was SILK thread I sewed them on with! haha! So I improvised and do what good folks do… COVERED THEM UP! I ran some more hearts through the big shot using the Decorative Dots folder and voila!
My “merci” is the negative cut into the Basic Black using the Greetings Thinlits (and just FYI Margaret Raburn, you can join me in France any time for some coffee at a trendy cafe! 😉 ). So that’s all folks! I hope you’ll click on over to Create with Connie and Mary and get inspired by the other designer’s cards. They always inspire me!
Just one more thing… I know, last week’s post was short and this is draaaaaaging… (maybe because the baby is asleep!). But while typing and ending the sentence with a period, do you single or double space? There seems to be much debate over this. According to online references I am considered old school because I double space.
Over and out for now friends! Thanks for stopping by!
Ahhh yes, it’s that time again. Sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! I got some goodies in that I just had to use for this card!
I knew as soon as I saw the sketch that I wanted to use the Expressions Natural Elements. I also used the new Cherry on Top DSP stack! Love how this is 6×6 too. I used the Petite Petals and the flower from Itty Bitty Accents Punch to make my little flower. My color combo is the new Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder and Whisper White.
Anywho, Come and play along you can also take a peek at the other designer’s cards here! 🙂
It’s color challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary! Above is this week’s trio. The color challenge was just that for me this week, a CHALLENGE! It’s kind of hard with the new catalog switch over because I don’t have any of the coordinating goodies yet!
But I did have the new Boho Chic embossing folder so I used my Stampin’ Write Markers and colored it up. I used the Watercolor Paper and gave it a spritz of alcohol.
My layout was from Freshly Made Sketches but I goofed and didn’t get it entered. I used the new Friendly Wishes stamp set. Isn’t it sweet?!?! I think it is going to be one of my new favorites!
Thanks for stopping by. Come and play along this week here!
It’s another color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary! I had fun with these colors. They are both strong and make quite a punch so I used them “lightly”. I started out in an entirely different direction with a Bermuda Bay base and Tangelo Twist mat but I tell you it was too much visually so I went the opposite route and I’m glad that I did.
I can’t help but think of that Iggy Azalea song “I’m So Fancy… can’t you taste this gold?” song when I look at this card! Ha! I think the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder gives it a nice texture. The sentiment is layered on the Gold Foil Sheet and then popped up with dimensionals to give it some… well… dimension. 😉
Hope you’ll come and play this week’s challenge with us! Just click here to play! And if I don’t get a chance to post again before this weekend, Happy Mother’s Day! Even to the mamas of fur babies, they count too! ❤
Happy Hump Day!
Hello fellow crafters! I’ve got a new card for you. I finally got the Hardwood background stamp and was itching to use it. I stamped it in craft white and applied it to the new Blackberry Bliss card stock. The sentiment is from the Something To Say stamp set and the flowers on the tag are from the coordinating punch set.
I LOVE the burlap ribbon. I am such a pack rat and save every scrap. I had a tiny piece of ribbon that was really too small to use (this did not stop me from keeping it!) so I tore it in shreds and tied it around the Hello Honey ribbon.
The flower on the bottom right was made using the Pansy and Petite Petals punches. Think I’m flower happy? Oh yeah! 😉
