Hi Friends! First off, merci beaucoup for stopping by! It is color challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary this week and I just happened to LOVE this color combo!
My stamp set is from the Beautiful Bunch. I used the Greetings Thinlits for my sentiment and added some Lost Lagoon banners under the button using the Banner Punch. They are embossed, but I was lucky enough to have it in my scrap pile. No extra work for those beauts!
I also decided to play along with Retro Sketches this week. I flipped the sketch because… Well… I’m a flipper, what can I say?! It was a fun sketch and with a color combo like this it is a win win! 🙂
I hope that you can play along this week! It is truly a beautiful color challenge and pop on by to Create with Connie and Mary and see the other designer’s cards to get your creative juices flowing! 🙂
I’ve got a question for you. Do you remember that song from the Bangles in the 80’s called Hazy Shade of Winter? There is a reason I ask (and you can hear it here!)… The song starts out saying “Time time time see what has become of me”. This is relevant. I have been so busy and where has my crafting time gone?! I JUST NOW got to play with my Designer Vellum Stack from Sale-A-Bration!
But play I did! I whipped up some cute note cards using the Crazy about You set.
I colored the back side of the vellum with matching Stampin’ Write Markers. These 3×3 lovelies let me play with all the different vellum sheets at once. 🙂 Can you guess which one is my favorite? Think pink ink… ha!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great weekend and maybe a chance to enjoy some good 80’s tunes! Ha! Remember, shop with me here for your craft supplies! 🙂
Guess what time it is?!
Color challenge time! That’s right friends, join us over at Create With Connie and Mary and put your creativity to work! I also decided to play along at CAS(E) this Sketch! I thought this layout was fun.
Did you notice my arch nemesis Soft Sky?! But ya know what, I didn’t fight him. I went with the flow. We’re not chummy by any means but at least it wasn’t a throw down this time! 🙂
I got a little “stampy” with this one… Ok, I got a LOT stampy! I used three different sets, Really Good Greetings, Butterfly Basics, and Beautiful Bunch. When I went to stamp my fern I accidentally stamped it into the Blackberry Bliss and without realizing it Stamped it into the Smoky Slate. The picture doesn’t show it too well but I got a multicolored fern that looks pretty cool. I just hope I didn’t forever ruin the ink pad!
Here is my take on the sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary this week. I love these sketch challenges and seeing everyone’s interpretations of them. You should join in the fun!
For this card I used Night of Navy card stock with Flowerpot Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs set.
The Whisper White card stock was a bit too white so I stamped first using the cool honeycomb looking stamp from the new Butterfly Basics set first in Lost Lagoon and then I stamped “happy birthday wishes” in Night of Navy.
The flower is from the Flower Frenzy Bigz L die. I love what this thing can do. Doesn’t that flower look full? Only took one spin of the Bigshot! I just layered two small pieces of cardstock onto the die and ran it through. I like to use it on scrap pieces of card stock. You can never go wrong with a flower!
Can you tell a difference in this last picture and the first? Something was driving me crazy and I finally decided what it was and made a switcharoo. Tell me if you can see what I changed! 😉
This time coming from a lazy Sunday. Oooooh so lazy. I’m literally in bed as I type. I decided this week to join a challange from CASology. It’s not too late for you to play too! The challange closes at noon tomorrow so go play while you can!
The challange this week is “Mini”. It just so happens that I recently made a cute little 3×3 for our wonderful mail carrier. It may look a little “Valentines-ie” because it is. I put this in our mailbox on Valentine’s day with a box of chocolates for our Mr. Ed. I’m getting a bit off here but bare with me… Mr. Ed is over 80 years old. He works five days a week delivering our mail. He leaves lollipops in the mailboxes for the kids in the neighborhood and on his day off you can find him and his wife volunteering at the VFW. Such a sweetheart!
Ok, back to the card! This is a simple little number that was fun and easy to make. I just layered the Basic Black card stock with Real Red and a 2.5″ x 2. 5″ sheet from the Stacked with Love DSP stack. These little cards are a great way to use up your scraps!
Anywho, I stamped the sentiment (Something to Say set) in craft white and heat embossed. I layered the hearts with some dimensionals and voila, C’est facile! 🙂
