Hi Friends! First off, merci beaucoup for stopping by! It is color challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary this week and I just happened to LOVE this color combo!
My stamp set is from the Beautiful Bunch. I used the Greetings Thinlits for my sentiment and added some Lost Lagoon banners under the button using the Banner Punch. They are embossed, but I was lucky enough to have it in my scrap pile. No extra work for those beauts!
I also decided to play along with Retro Sketches this week. I flipped the sketch because… Well… I’m a flipper, what can I say?! It was a fun sketch and with a color combo like this it is a win win! 🙂
I hope that you can play along this week! It is truly a beautiful color challenge and pop on by to Create with Connie and Mary and see the other designer’s cards to get your creative juices flowing! 🙂
Happy October everyone!! We all know what this month brings. Perhaps some ghosts and goblins? Well that is what I’m bringing anyway! First, the fun sketch from Create with Connie and Mary!
Now this was fun, but boy did it take some serious thinking! After much deliberation this is what I came up with:
Told ya I’d bring you some ghosts! 😉 I used the new Happy Haunting DSP and the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I used the basic metal buttons and stringed them along the white baker’s twine. I used a candy dot next to the sentiment to add weight and visual interest to the left.
And that just about wraps it up! Hope you get a chance to play along this week! Come on by to get some ideas from the other designer’s cards, you will not be disappointed! www.createwithconnieandmary.com
Hi crafty friends! We have a beautiful color challenge this week at Create with Connie and Mary.
Aren’t they pretty colors?! The “challenge” comes in to play when trying to pair them all together and challenge it was for me! But I decided to go out on a limb and not use Among the Branches… Get it?! haha! I know I know… Cheddar but what can I say?!
I used the new Oh, What Fun stamp set. And upon closer inspection I actually did use Among the Branches after all! That is where my three little snow flakes came from. Whoopsie! Well, I told you that set was versatile. 🙂 I decided to make a fun girly Christmas Card and went with the flow.
My sketch came from the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge:
I colored my rhinestones with some random gold pen I found in my desk. I couldn’t begin to tell you what brand it is but it worked and I went with it! And my gold twine is the Cording Trim in the holiday catalog. I hope you can join along this week at Create with Connie and Mary!
Would you believe me if I said that I cannot believe that it is Thursday already? I know that I say it so much that it is starting to sound cliche but I mean where is the time going?! Good grief! At least there is a fun sketch challenge and Create with Connie and Mary this week!
I’ve been making a lot of Fall Cards with the new Among the Branches stamp set but I thought it was time to change it up and make it a Christmas card. Last year I got a Christmas stamp set and was able to use it for a lot more than just Christmas. I love how versatile SU stamps are!
I used the new Merry Moments DSP stack. It all coordinates and makes it easy as pie. I layered on of the new foil doilies with my punched out card stock and sentiment and that about wraps it up!
Except for these gorgeous rhinestones on the side here. I actually gave my last catalog away and now I don’t know the names of things (what are these beauties called?) ! Plus it’s making me a little on edge… I’m telling you friend, I need help. I am a paper addict all the way!
So with that all aside (I am terribly tired and am rambling here. Please do forgive me.), come join us at Create with Connie and Mary! You will not be able to help being inspired when you see the other designer’s cards. It’s really cool to see a sketch and then everyone’s different take on it. A very talented group I tells ya! 😉
Hi Friends! It is color challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary. I decided to do things a bit different this week and also participated in Mojo Monday’s sketch challenge.
So my title says it all. I thought that my card was too busy but my mother-in-law was here and she said that she liked more leaves so I went with it! I just didn’t care and the more I added the more I liked it! I guess I’m just craving some autumn! It’s still very warm here in Coastal Carolina and don’t even get me started on the humidity!
Here is the sketch from Mojo Monday:
and another shot of my take on it (with some fall foliage of course)!
Thanks for stopping by! If you’re looking for some creative inspiration check out the other designer’s cards at Create with Connie and Mary! Hopefully you’ll join in and play along! 🙂
Happy Thursday all! It is sketch challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary! Looking at this sketch I thought easy peasy!
Yes… “Thought” being the keyword. My pride forbids me to tell you how long it took me to come up with my rendition of the sketch!
I cut some small strips of Basic Black card stock and curled them up. This card looks easy enough, right? Then, prey tell, how in the world did I struggle for “x” amount of time?! ha! I punched out my images from the Happy Haunting DSP and my sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.
This set has a stamp for just about any holiday or event you can think of… Besides National Dog Day; which I am embarrassed to say that I missed. How could I? My best friend in the world has four legs and we fight for the same pillow. So I’m a bit late in celebrating her but here she is in all of her splendid glory, Aspen, also known as my BFF Bubbies. ❤
Kind of got off track there! We will blame it on Teeny Tiny Wishes! 😉 Thanks for stopping by. Check out the other designer’s takes on the challenge this week and let’s see what you come up with! Play along with us at Create with Connie and Mary!
Hello fine friends! It is color challenge time this week at Create with Connie and Mary! This is such a pretty color combo! Here is what I came up with:
My DSP background is from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I love love love all the designs of this DSP! I ran my top strip of card stock through the Big Shot using the Honeycomb embossing folder. I like how it mimics the honeycomb pattern of the paper. My sentiment is from Perfect Pennants and I used the ever so useful Handheld Stapler to attach a strip of Pool Party.
Seriously, I love that thing! It is powerful enough to staple through some pretty thick stuff and gentle enough for the more fragile. Anywho, thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ll pop on over to see the other designer’s cards at Create with Connie and Mary. They will provide you with great ideas and EYE CANDY! 😉 It’s sure to get your creative groove going so come along and play with us!
It’s sketch challenge time over at Create with Connie and Mary!
And ok… maybe my card is not so “spooky” per se but I’ll tell you what is. The amount of time I spent deciding whether I should leave the entire Spider Web Doily whole or trim it. It really was nerve rattling. I went back and forth destroying many a web along the way and I eventually went with an altered doily.
I couldn’t quite get the three banners from the sketch in my take so I used three Basic Rhinestones. I also used the Happy Haunting Designer Washi Tape under the Happy Haunting DSP. If you can’t tell already, I LOVE the new holiday catalog! Let me know if you need a copy and I’ll get one to you!
If you’re looking for some creative mojo look no further than the other designer’s creations over at Create with Connie and Mary! Happy Crafting!
Hey hey! It’s color challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary! This week it was a challenge indeed! I struggled because these colors scream BOY to me and I was stumped!
So, truth be told… I have never made a boy card. Ever. I have two girls and we are all flowers and rainbows over here! So I went out of my comfort zone and did things a little different. No flowers. No bling.
I used the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits for my “you” and the “rock” is from the Crazy About You stamp set. Of course the star here is the Gorgeous Grunge. And that’s it. Easy doesn’t even cut it! But it’s bright and boy-ie and my mind can rest from scrambling on what to do with the color combo!
Unfortunately my blade is dull on my Paper Trimmer but I like the way that it roughed up the edge of the card stock! Ha! Now I don’t feel so bad about forgetting to put blades on my last order! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! If you’d like to see some other great cards using this color combo pop on over to Create with Connie and Mary and if you’re up for the challenge, join in!
Hi crafty friends! Here is this week’s sketch challenge with Create with Connie and Mary.
I inverted the sketch and came up with this number:
For my stripes in the background I used a stamp from the Perfect Pennants set. The sentiment is from my new fav Friendly Wishes. My flower was made using the Pansy Punch and I peeled a layer back on the petals to give it some dimension. I also used a Vintage Faceted Button with some Basic Pearls centered in it. Instead of seeing a mustache this week I am seeing a bird’s nest. 😉
My stamped dots are mimicked behind the sentiment with the DSP from the Cherry on Top Stack. And that about covers it! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you’ll stop on over at Create with Connie and Mary and check out the other designer’s cards and play along. It’s guaranteed to get your creative juices flowing!
