A couple of weeks ago I said that some changes were coming and so they are. This will be my last go around with this designing crew and let me tell you that it has been a pleasure and a blast! So this card is for them! Merci beaucoup to Connie and Mary for the opportunity! Thank you fellow designers for all of your wonderful inspiration!
Truly, the timing was just meant to be. We just found that we will be moving in a bit. My husband is in the USMC and that is part of it so it looks like it is back to the D.C. area for us.
But in all honesty that’s not all. I am not going to say that I have lost my zeal for stamping. That will never be! I super love stamping and all crafting and I plan on adding a lot more to my blog because of that. But… with Stampin’ Up! I feel a little lost. My upline has left the company putting me to her upline which is frankly so huge she never even responded to my emails. There has been no communication and I mean zilch. That is not to down Stampin’ Up!. I clearly LOVE their products and they are, in my opinion, the BEST! But in my particular situation I feel that I fell through the cracks which leaves me questioning things. But again, I do not question their products because they are unparalleled. I’m sorry if I digress,
here is the sketch challenge for this week:
So, naturally I had to use Melon Mambo – think pink ink, right? 😉 I used the Fun Flower punch, which come on, it’s clearly a Clematis. hehe! I peeled the layers to give it some volume. I did the same with the Pansy punch. I used the Bird Builder punch for my little leaves. Don’t know if you can tell but it is glimmer paper under the sentiment. I stink at capturing the sparkle!
I stamped off the Hardwood stamp and applied in Craft ink to the Basic Black. I think that it lends some visual interest without being too fussy. I stamped it a couple of times just because I wanted to see what it would do. 🙂 The center of my flowers are the basic black buttons and that’s about it!
Thanks for stopping by! ❤
And you know that I can’t leave you without a musical reference. My second crush… My first was Ponch on Chips. Hahah! Oh the things we admit behind a keyboard! 😀
Can you help but think of Adele’s new song “Hello” with a start like that?! HA! This week it is color challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary.
Faux embossing… easy peasy? No…It’s even easier. I just glued down a bunch of hellos and ran it through the big shot! I mean I didn’t even think taking a picture of the steps was necessary, we’ve all been through the first grade. I saw this idea on Pinterest once and as I sat down with this powerful color combination it came to mind.
First grade… Yes, that brings something else to mind. I was looking for my flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack but it has gone missing. My daughter said she has noooo idea where it may be. Hmmm. Then I hear my mother say with my own voice “I guess it grew legs and walked away”… Do you ever sound like your mother? Holy SMOKES! Sometimes I can’t believe the things that fly out of my mouth! But then again, I also can’t believe the things that disappear around here!
So I had to use a “vintage” punch but I think it fits don’t you? 🙂 Although my Hello Honey is small, doesn’t she stand off the page in that little flower?
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you get some time to craft this week and have some “you” time! 🙂
In case you need some reading (or crafting!) music: 🙂
Happy Thursday! It’s sketch challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary. This is one of those rare times that I already knew who I was making this card for before I started. But first the sketch:
I made this card for my lovely neighbor and friend Lara. I made her a gift and this card will be accompanying it. I got a Silhouette for Christmas and she is my first victim. Haha! I’ll post that picture tomorrow. Lara is not afraid of color or pattern. She mixes combinations that I would never dare to but when she does it her projects come out beautiful! So with that being said, my bright colors combined with different patterns are a tribute to her. 🙂
My flower was made from punching already stamped scraps (you can bet your bippy that I save every snip-it);) with the Pansy and Fun Flower punch. My sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, one of the first sets I ever bought!
I used a circle punch on the top of the treat bag so that she can use her fingers to easily pull the message out. And it helps show off the bling-y sequin trim!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you get a chance to play along this week at Create with Connie and Mary. Be sure to check out the other designer’s cards. What a talented group of ladies!
You may be wondering about the title of this post… Have you ever made something and thought it looked great but when you saw a picture of it you realized it wasn’t so awesome after all?
Not to say that I don’t like the card but I regret my foliage. It blends right into the background. I should have stamped on it or even used DSP to break it up a bit but I promise it doesn’t look like this so much in person! 😉
Thanks for stopping by today! And if you’ve noticed a few more typos than usual I’m sorry about that. I got a new computer and these keys are stiff as all get out! Hope you get a chance to play along this week, pop on over to Create with Connie and Mary!
Hey everybody! Doesn’t it seem like not too long ago I said there were only 9 Thursdays until Christmas? Eeeek It’s almost here and I am not even close to being ready! So to keep my mind off of it I did NOT do a Christmas card! Ever try to use reverse psychology on yourself?! Ha! 😀
Hello crafty friends! I’m here with a color challenge from Create with Connie and Mary and I’m happy to report that I am feeling MUCH better thanks to some good ol’ antibiotics!
Isn’t this a pretty trio?! I may have cheated just a wee bit but honestly, is it that glaring to you?
So there is no Elegant Eggplant in my Bohemian DSP, but I like it I dare say! I also like the chevron paired with the Boho Chic embossing folder. It just gives it a Southwestern look to me for some reason. I added some linen thread to add to the feel and topped off my sentiment with a flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack but in this instance we’ll call it a desert rose. 😉
And there you have it! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ll come play along with this week’s color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary and if you cheat on your paper, I won’t tell a soul! 🙂
Would you please look at this color combo?! BEAUTIFUL! Timeless and classic! So here is what I came up with:
I stamped using the Smokey Slate for my sentiment and it looks so much like pencil writing! Love it! When I went to make this card I looked at my desk and saw the card that I used for my holiday catalog swap and I just copied that layout (will share soon!). Fun and easy!
The supply list for this card is minimal so I just put them in the tag section. Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to hop on over to Create with Connie and Mary and check out the other designer’s cards! I’m sure you can’t help but want to play with this color combo so come on and join the fun! 🙂
Happy Thursday Friends! I don’t mean to freak you out BUT… Can you believe there are only NINE Thursdays left before Christmas?!?!?! EEEEK! I’ve started some shopping but I’m usually a lot further ahead than I am now. I digress, let’s talk color darling. Without further adieu checkout out the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary this week!
I just can’t help but think of nature when looking at this trio so here is what I came up with:
I played around with different stamp sets and finally decided on a trio of Kinda Eclectic, Butterfly Basics, and Papillon Potpourri. This is clean, simple, and without any bling I dare say. I did use the Bitty Butterfly Punch to give my winged friend some dimension.
And that’s all she wrote! Stop on by Create with Connie and Mary to join in. Be sure to check out the other designer’s cards for some awesomely creative ideas! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy your Thursday and remember, only a few Thursdays are left until Christmas so join the fun and play along!
Hi Friends! First off, merci beaucoup for stopping by! It is color challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary this week and I just happened to LOVE this color combo!
My stamp set is from the Beautiful Bunch. I used the Greetings Thinlits for my sentiment and added some Lost Lagoon banners under the button using the Banner Punch. They are embossed, but I was lucky enough to have it in my scrap pile. No extra work for those beauts!
I also decided to play along with Retro Sketches this week. I flipped the sketch because… Well… I’m a flipper, what can I say?! It was a fun sketch and with a color combo like this it is a win win! 🙂
I hope that you can play along this week! It is truly a beautiful color challenge and pop on by to Create with Connie and Mary and see the other designer’s cards to get your creative juices flowing! 🙂
Hello fine friends! It is color challenge time this week at Create with Connie and Mary! This is such a pretty color combo! Here is what I came up with:
My DSP background is from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I love love love all the designs of this DSP! I ran my top strip of card stock through the Big Shot using the Honeycomb embossing folder. I like how it mimics the honeycomb pattern of the paper. My sentiment is from Perfect Pennants and I used the ever so useful Handheld Stapler to attach a strip of Pool Party.
Seriously, I love that thing! It is powerful enough to staple through some pretty thick stuff and gentle enough for the more fragile. Anywho, thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ll pop on over to see the other designer’s cards at Create with Connie and Mary. They will provide you with great ideas and EYE CANDY! 😉 It’s sure to get your creative groove going so come along and play with us!
