Hello Friends! Sorry for the long delay since I last posted but as promised some changes are under way. First off, let me share what we made for my daughter’s Valentine’s day party at school. I know I know, the holiday has come and gone but this stuff is too cute not to share and I also said that I’d take you along on my journey of learning the Silhouette, and trust me when I say there is a learning curve!
I saw this really cute idea in one of the craft groups. It is just melting crayons in the oven so we went with it.
It is a great way to use up those broken crayons and there are ALWAYS broken crayons. Just put them in your mold and pop them in a 250 degree oven for 12-15 minutes.
I used the LD Doodle Rock font for the sentiment using the Silhouette. It is fun and frankly reminds me of School House Rock! 🙂
I used the Chomas Creations pen holder and sharpies! That’s it! No fancy ink or pens required. SOOO easy and fun (and let’s not forget INEXPENSIVE)! I glued on some Stampin’ Up baker’s twine and tied each crayon in a bow. But of course I’m hooked on this thing so I couldn’t stop there. Of course I had to make something for the teachers and my sweet Valentine…
I used the Samantha font to make these personalized mugs. I think they were a hit! Remember I’m a newbie and I was not able to pull much up for the special characters (pretty swirly letters) for the Samantha font so I opened up Yellow Daisy in the font character map and used Samantha font on the Silhouette studio. Don’t ask me how or why but it worked and I went with it!
Thanks for stopping by! More projects coming soon!
