Happy Haunting on a Thursday

Happy Thursday all! It is sketch challenge time at Create with Connie and Mary! Looking at this sketch I thought easy peasy!

Yes… “Thought” being the keyword. My pride forbids me to tell you how long it took me to come up with my rendition of the sketch!

I cut some small strips of Basic Black card stock and curled them up. This card looks easy enough, right? Then, prey tell, how in the world did I struggle for “x” amount of time?! ha! I punched out my images from the Happy Haunting DSP and my sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

This set has a stamp for just about any holiday or event you can think of… Besides National Dog Day; which I am embarrassed to say that I missed. How could I? My best friend in the world has four legs and we fight for the same pillow. So I’m a bit late in celebrating her but here she is in all of her splendid glory, Aspen, also known as my BFF Bubbies. ❤

Kind of got off track there! We will blame it on Teeny Tiny Wishes! 😉 Thanks for stopping by. Check out the other designer’s takes on the challenge this week and let’s see what you come up with! Play along with us at Create with Connie and Mary!

  1. What a fun creative take on this week’s sketch Brigette – and as for the puppy, he is just adorable!! Love the pop of orange on your card too – you might want to link up with this week’s Stamps Ink Paper Challenge. You’re so right on the Teeny Tiny Wishes too – something for everyone (well, almost!)

  2. Lol. I could have written this blog post except I have a different card and dog. I too struggled with this sketch for a loong time. And I too forgot National Dog day but fortunately my daughter told me before the day was over so I was at least able to quickly get a photo of my BFF on Instagram. I laughed when I read that you and your dog fight for the same pillow. Me too! And I hate to disturb her when she wins so I just squeeze in. All that being said, I think you did a fantastic job with the sketch. Love that you flipped it. I should have thought of that!

  3. One could not tell that you had any struggle at all with your card!! You cleverly rotated the orientation to vertical to give it a whole different look! What a fun use of the Halloween DSP! Why is it that the simplest cards are sometimes the hardest?!! Great card! You won! : )

  4. It is good to know that everyone has trouble with a challenge at one time or another…otherwise it wouldn’t be a challenge! Your card turned out wonderful! Love how you spotlighted certain parts of the DSP. Sorry I am late with my comment. Family health issues. Better late than never!
