Hi All!

Here is my take on the sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary this week. I love these sketch challenges and seeing everyone’s interpretations of them. You should join in the fun!

Happy Birthday Wishes1

For this card I used Night of Navy card stock with Flowerpot Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs set.

Close Up1

The Whisper White card stock was a bit too white so I stamped first using the cool honeycomb looking stamp from the new Butterfly Basics set first in Lost Lagoon and then I stamped “happy birthday wishes” in Night of Navy.

The flower is from the Flower Frenzy Bigz L die. I love what this thing can do. Doesn’t that flower look full? Only took one spin of the Bigshot! I just layered two small pieces of cardstockΒ  onto the die and ran it through. I like to use it on scrap pieces of card stock. You can never go wrong with a flower!

Side Shot1

Can you tell a difference in this last picture and the first? Something was driving me crazy and I finally decided what it was and made a switcharoo. Tell me if you can see what I changed! πŸ˜‰

  1. Everyone interpreted this sketch just a little differently! I love all the results! This is so pretty! I’m a blue person by nature…seem to be drawn to it. Love the polka dot paper with the navy 3D flower and the little rhinestone accents.

  2. Yummy colors! Bridgette, you have such a good eye for balance and design – love what you did with both cards, but I see what you mean about the second one. πŸ™‚

  3. Love the stamped honeycomb behind the greeting…such a simple but dramatic element! I admit…I can’t figure out what is different…lol! Great job with the sketch this week!

  4. I’m stumped on what the difference is too! I’ve gone back and forth between the two pictures a dozen times and I can’t see it! Anyway, you and I were thinking along the same lines with this sketch….polka dots, Flower Frenzy, and rounded corners! Great minds think alike, right!!!!

  5. Elegant and beautiful!! Did you move the two rhinestones from under the flower a little bit further to the right??
If so, I can see why you did that…it balances the card beautifully! πŸ™‚

    • You are the winner Alison! lol!! I did a switcharoo. Something on the card was driving me crazy and I couldn’t put my finger on it! I finally (it did take awhile!) figured it was the rhinestones they were just not positioned in a good spot so I moved them and breathed a little easier. It’s the little things! πŸ˜‰

  6. Ah, I love these colors; blue is pretty much my fave color forever! That flower is wonderful and I love that die you used! You moved the bottom rhinestones and it balances the design!! Took me a few looks to figure it out! : )

  7. Exactly Margaret! I couldn’t even find the right word when I was describing moving the rhinestone to Alison, it wasn’t balanced until I moved it! I kept scratching my head but the light bulb finally came on! πŸ˜‰
