Hey there! It’s a color challenge this week over at Create with Connie and Mary. and I decided to play along at Retrosketches I have a weird relationship with Soft Sky. It really looks so pretty until I get my hands on it. I know, it sounds crazy. I probably need help with this along with my paper hoarding!

So, I used it minimally but it did make a cute little butterfly.

hello

The stamp set is from the Butterfly Basics. I used the new Hello You thinlit die for the sentiment. I just used two of the oval framelits to create the frame and bumped it up with some dimensionals. And there ya have it, Soft Sky and all! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hi All!

Here is my take on the sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary this week. I love these sketch challenges and seeing everyone’s interpretations of them. You should join in the fun!

Happy Birthday Wishes1

For this card I used Night of Navy card stock with Flowerpot Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs set.

Close Up1

The Whisper White card stock was a bit too white so I stamped first using the cool honeycomb looking stamp from the new Butterfly Basics set first in Lost Lagoon and then I stamped “happy birthday wishes” in Night of Navy.

The flower is from the Flower Frenzy Bigz L die. I love what this thing can do. Doesn’t that flower look full? Only took one spin of the Bigshot! I just layered two small pieces of cardstockย  onto the die and ran it through. I like to use it on scrap pieces of card stock. You can never go wrong with a flower!

Side Shot1

Can you tell a difference in this last picture and the first? Something was driving me crazy and I finally decided what it was and made a switcharoo. Tell me if you can see what I changed! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh Happy Day

Happy Day

Hey Hey, Happy Day To YOU! This card in my rendition of a cute card I found on Pinterest by Chiaki Haverstick.ย  Naturally I made mine pink! I used the Delicate Doilies stamp set and I added a vintage designer button and some bling with the rhinestones.ย  In a previous post I mentioned missing the scalloped ribbon. Boy howdy, I sure do. Luckily, I am a hoarder and have a stock pile! ๐Ÿ˜‰

While most of the things aren’t in the current catalog it doesn’t stop me from using them! I enjoy every craft tool, paper, ink, and embellishment that I have! Just ask my husband! ha! ๐Ÿ˜€

Hope you have a great St. Patrick’s Day today!

Hello Friends,

It’s time for another challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.ย  This week it is a color challenge.ย  At first I thought I may struggle with it but as it came along I realized that I really like it!ย  This challenge was a good reminder for me to get out of my comfort zone and try new things.

I even got out the Crystal Effects to play with because it had been awhile since I used it. The Lovely Lace embossing folder gives it detail without being too “fussy”.ย  The sentiment is from the “Hello There” hostess set.

In this picture you can better see where I put the Crystal Effects over the sentiment. I stamped it using the Tuxedo Black Momento ink and had no problems with it smearing.ย  Lastly, I topped it off with a sweet Wild Wasabi Candy Dot. ๐Ÿ™‚

Because I Just Can’t Stop!

Hey Hey! A few posts ago I shared a card that I made for my lovely neighbor. Well, I just couldn’t stop at a card. I saw a great box tutorial by fellow demonstrator Vicky Hayes that you can see here.

However, I did change up the dimensions on the lid. I wanted both the lid and the pretty box underneath to show. Iย  made the box and put some wine tags in it because she makes her own wine and gives bottles as gifts.

I stamped my flowers (Flower Shop Set) in Calypso Coral and my go to for all things pretty, MELON MAMBO! ๐Ÿ˜‰ The ribbon is the 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon on page 207 of the Stampin’ Up! annual catalog.

The stamp on the tag is from the hostess set “Hello There”. I love that stamp set!! By using the “For You” stamp on the tag she can give the bottles for any occasion and it will work.

I’m happy to say that she did love it and she sent me a picture of a tag on one of her bottles! What a fun gift!

CASology

Mini

Hello Again,

This time coming from a lazy Sunday. Oooooh so lazy. I’m literally in bed as I type. I decided this week to join a challange from CASology. It’s not too late for you to play too! The challange closes at noon tomorrow so go play while you can!

The challange this week is “Mini”. It just so happens that I recently made a cute little 3×3 for our wonderful mail carrier. It may look a little “Valentines-ie” because it is. I put this in our mailbox on Valentine’s day with a box of chocolates for our Mr. Ed. I’m getting a bit off here but bare with me… Mr. Ed is over 80 years old. He works five days a week delivering our mail. He leaves lollipops in the mailboxes for the kids in the neighborhood and on his day off you can find him and his wife volunteering at the VFW. Such a sweetheart!

Ok, back to the card! This is a simple little number that was fun and easy to make. I just layered the Basic Black card stock with Real Red and a 2.5″ x 2. 5″ sheet from the Stacked with Love DSP stack. These little cards are a great way to use up your scraps!

Anywho, I stamped the sentiment (Something to Say set) in craft white and heat embossed. I layered the hearts with some dimensionals and voila, C’est facile! ๐Ÿ™‚
